Thriving

The great crested grebes seem to have had quite a productive breeding season, despite the torrential rain for much of it.  There are plenty of teenagers around, some like this one, show great promise.  I watched with some amusement as the bird moved around in a circle while splashing with its feet.  I wondered what it was doing and then it caught several fish without needing to dive for them, the fish seemed to have become confused by its antics and come up to the surface to see what was happening...
