View over town

The day started well with a slow morning leading to brunch on top of Vårdkasen (Beacon Hill). Mist was floating up from the south so the seaward end of the South Sound was often hidden as we ate. Looking northward, (the blip), to Härnösand in the sun, it looked a beautiful day. The vegetation in the foreground is actually the top of the ski slope, clothed in its summer flowers.
We moved on to Smitingen beach which turned out to be also draped in mist (see Jan's blip) but it was a strange, rather warm mist. We hung around for a while, watching the families doing beach things, wondering how cold the sea was (people were swimming), and admiring the weird light effects of the mist, until we noticed how wet our clothes were becoming. Time to head for home!
Once we got home I suffered something of  an energy crash, leaving Jan to continue wrestling with a dodgy lawnmower. All I could manage was lying on the sofa, reading my book. I didn't even have the energy to blip, which is why this is appearing three days late! Eventually I went to bed early and slept a long time.
