Ticking Away the Moments

Sunset over St Paul's

Fantastic day in London - we spent the whole afternoon at St Paul's Cathedral which neither of us have been to for years. It was a lot more expensive than we thought it would be to get in but if you are a UK taxpayer & gift aid it, the pass lasts for a year so we'll have to come back again.

It really is amazing inside as well as outside. It had a huge cleaning & restoration job done a few years ago and everything is so bright and colourful. I made Gary sit through Evensong as well as I thought it would be like the Latin sung mass I used to (have to) attend as a child - it wasn't quite the same though.

After that, we walked across the Millennium bridge which isn't wobbly anymore, then down past the Globe Theatre and back over Southwark bridge. It was strange walking down Cannon St where I used to work when I first came down to London for work - it looks different but familiar if that makes sense.

Finished our evening with dinner at Jamie Oliver's Barbecoa restaurant near the Cathedral - really good food, somewhere else we'll come back to!
