Catalina 433915
A lovely day. Cloudy first thing, then a beautiful sunny afternoon and evening, warm too. That sunshine was a welcomed sight.
Up at 5am, early shift in the airport. A morning meeting and boarding flights, on the check-in desk in the afternoon. All flights busy to full today. Cousin Keiran boarded the Bergen flight, said my cheerios for now. Mam and the gang came along tonight. A family walk, an said cheerios to uncle Michael and June. Off to bed early.
I was not expecting to see a WWII Catalina land on the runway this lunchtime, what an amazing sight to see. The tour north is part of trip to mark the 80th anniversary of the Victoria Crosses being awarded to two Catalina pilots. They laid wreaths on the graves, and tomorrow they will fly over Lerwick.
