Coming up roses

On my way in to work this morning I spotted a couple of people erecting a timber frame in front of this house. This is how it looks this evening. I suspect someone inside is soon to be married . . .

Later in the day I learned that I had won first prize in the treasure-hunt anagram contest that took place last Saturday at one of the gardens we visited, so I now have £20 to spend at a garden centre. How fortuitous then that I'm a great deal closer to actually having a garden of my own . . .

And then, on leaving work, I noticed ants scuttling about everywhere. Aha! I thought, this evening will be flying ant day, but I couldn't think of anyone who might be interested enough to care that I had noticed such a thing . . .

I walked into my podiatry appointment to be greeted with “apparently it's flying ant day” I could have hugged the receptionist and he could have hugged me. He'd mentioned it to two clients earlier who had shown no interest, so we were both happy to discuss flying ants until his partner was ready to take care of my feet, and now my feet are happy too.
