"Helping"

Or at least they like to think so. Another blip milestone and the yellow guys are back to help me celebrate. They looked for inspiration in the latest edition of the BJP but couldn't decide on a suitable subject.
As for the past year on blip...
Almost a year ago I was working with the drama school again.
A fun afternoon at the allotments.
We celebrated our friends P and E's wedding.
In the course of the year I photographed a number of birds on Porty beach, like this tern.
It's been quite a year for football - more games than I have seen live in a season for quite some time. Even got to see Leeds in action at Tynecastle.
Worked at the RSCDS Summer School again.
Went to see Spartans more often than anyone else, including their first ever SPFL fixture.
Photographed the choir, and later on made a book of photos for the choir's tenth anniversary.
Saw a First Minister on a bike in Porty.
Travelled to Manchester to see the Indigo Girls in concert.
Sad news with the death of a school friend.
The Big Beach Busk was busy.
And celebrated L's birthday with cake.
I organised another Art Walk photo exhibition.
L and I tried out lawn bowling.
The Art Walk was a great success.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary with a trip to Vane Farm.
Bike Fest took over our street in September.
And I celebrated a big birthday.
I did see United playing live a few times, including two top of the table games against Raith. The first in Kirkcaldy in October.
We took a trip to Saltburn and enjoyed some great food!
We were down there for Storm Babet but the after effects were visible back in Porty.
I took the train to Dundee for Dad's birthday.
And we made our now regular visit to Wigtown in November.
There were interesting visitors to Portobello through the year, like this steam train.
And sometimes I just blipped the ordinary everyday stuff.
L featured in a few blips, like this cheery wave.
in December we saw United play Raith at Tannadice - my last birthday gift and seats in hospitality. Shame about the result but it all worked out in the end.
An exciting bird for Christmas Day.
Another blipped year finished.
And a new one started.
Several events at the Town Hall as we brought it back into community control very successfully.
I did some conference jobs.
And lots of photographs of community events in Portobello.
Our local streets made headlines.
And the sea made a splash.
I met up with old college pals in Liverpool.
Reflections caught my eye.
Lots of birthday celebrations.
And a rare selfie.
Photos of friends and neighbours.
The choir celebrated ten years and I celebrated 5000 blips.
I saw a seal on the sand and blipped a blipper.
Dental treatment had its compensations.
And the season ended at Spartans in disappointment.
Some of my choir photos formed a mini exhibition.
I watched the marathon in the rain.
The beach felt like a sculpture park for a while.
I photographed some long distance running school kids.
And caught up with an old friend.
The election campaign came to the prom, and the beach (another First Minister).
L performed at a local music festival.
Porty Pride and the Mentone Avenue street party made for a busy weekend.
Before our world turned upside down.
Thankfully all turned out well. L's recovery continues to go well. We are heading out shortly for another walk along the Prom.

As ever, looking back over a year of blip it is surprising how much has happened in what feels like a quiet and ordinary life. That's what Blipfoto is so good at, capturing the ordinary. Thanks to all those that help to make it happen and to all my blip friends who brighten my days with their blips and comments.
