Sad state of affairs

The Geldenhuys Cemetery in Springs.  As the top photo shows, it used to be well looked after but about this time last year we decided that our efforts of keeping Arnie's Gran's grave looking tidy was not working.  Not only is it a long way to drive, but the place is in such a mess it doesn't feel a safe place to be.

I think I noted here before that we had elected to pay local people to look after it, and a grand job they do, just a pity the surrounding areas are extremely wild and unkempt.  The bottom picture was sent to me today.

Sad to think that just ten years ago it looked like it did in the top picture.  Just shows the rapid decay of our city.
