Scarness Bay, Bassenthwaite Lake
It's always a real treat for me when I find a bit of the Lake District that I've never visited, especially when it's relatively close to home.
Today I dropped Deb off between Applethwaite & Millbeck for her to run (yes run) over Carl Side, Skiddaw and Longscale Fell. I, in the meantime drove to the north east corner of Bassenthwaite and walked along a new (for me) path to Scarness bay. The location was interesting, and the Lake was still, but the route in and out (a circular route) was both boggy in places, and extremely overgrown - almost impassable - in places.
I used the widest lens I had with me, as I wanted to include the whole of the cumulous clouds in the top of the shot.
0.6 ND grad, tripod.
