Microburst

A microburst is a small, localized column of sinking air, or downdraft, within a thunderstorm that can cause extensive damage and be life-threatening. Microbursts are usually less than 2.5 miles in diameter and last 2–5 minutes, but can produce destructive winds of up to 168 miles per hour.
