A day in the life

Another

Another day, another roof. During the last rainstorm, my friend up north on my island was in his ceramic workshop "doing things" when he suddenly was leaked upon from the ceiling. He removed himself and called me and another good friend of ours, to help him remove the tiles from the roof so that he can fix the leak and at the same time renovate the whole roof with a whole new "underwork", from the bottom up.

The job didn't actually take us long, we've done this kind of thing before, so in just over two hours we were finished, and got a protective tarpaulin on minutes before the rain arrived. On Thursday, another friend of his who knows what he's doing, arrives to get all the underwork done and putting the tiles back on. I'm not needed.

Driving home in the rain was a trial, not because of the rain but because of the looong queues caused by thousands of tourists, right now invading our island, most of them going up north to the parties and the sandy beaches. The ones going south, where I live, are mostly bird and nature lovers and they are a lot fewer. Good and tired I had a nap having reached home in the late part of the afternoon.
