In the kitchen garden

A fine day, but windy. So windy in fact that the ancient sweet chestnut tree in the middle of the village has come down. I've spent most of the day working in the kitchen garden. The weather over the last few weeks - cool and wet - has been ideal for crops like peas and potatoes. We are enjoying an enormous crop of peas from the first sowings in early April.
