Everyday Life

Heighington

Today is my actual (as opposed to Blip) birthday.

The weather has not been fantastic, with a lot of rain this morning. It has not been particularly cold and although it has remained gloomy and cloudy the rain stopped eventually.

It was decided that we would head out for a little drive to Heighington, a rather pretty local village. I actually married my ex husband there, in the church Blipped by Brian. My parents lived there for a while as my Mum was warden for the OAP sheltered housing, which came with accommodation. I lived there too, for a couple of months before moving into a bedsit in Lincoln to save on travel into work.

The village has changed quite a bit, with many more new properties having been built since those days, about 40 years ago! Some old landmarks still remain - the pubs, and this beck!

Today, as a change from having lunch out, we are going out for dinner tea in the Royal William IV. We've even booked a table..

I've had lovely presents - some of which I'll Blip in the coming days. I think I have actually accidentally requested and got a Taylor Swift T-shirt! It was one of the ideas I suggested to Brian as I loved the design: A drawing of a cute cat with the words "Karma is a Cat". I have since discovered that this is a line from one of her songs... If I had to choose a favourite song by her it would be that song though.
