My days ...My life

By ElspethAnne

Over the field at sunset.

It's been a good day .
Morning in the garden - the olive trees are covered in flowers this year and my small lemon tree is thriving on the deck covered in lemons.
My older lemon tree has not thrived since I moved it outside from the porch in May. I've no idea what is wrong other than that it hasn't had much heat on the deck area so I have moved it to where it will have morning light.
New blackcurrant bushes are also not terribly happy - some fruit but not as expected. I don't think the soil is right. But the courgettes are great this year and leeks and broad beans are all fine.
We have a great array of broccoli flowers! I think the plants have seeded because it's been too dry when we have been away.
In the afternoon I went to visit my sister- she has been unwell with a covid like virus that has left mh normally very active big sister very tired . It was great to see her.
In the evening I was looking through some old books Marion gave me .
I particularly liked to revisit ' The Song of Hiawatha ' that was a school book of Mum's
And some interesting old books about Argyll.
There is a large bag of books for the Oxfam bookshop in the dining room. I'm definitely fighting a losing battle with the books !
Just before 10pm we walked out the back and round the circular path to Geilston Garden- 15 minute walk and a nice end to the day .
