Carisbroke Castle

Today has been so stressful, our 11am ferry crossing was cancelled due to a ramp failure so everyone who needed to travel off the Isle of Wight scrambled to find alternative crossings. The first one we found was 7pm so we booked it out of desperation but not ideal with a three hour car journey home. Other sailings became available during the morning so we altered the booking to 4.20pm & in the end we squeezed onto the 3.20pm sailing & got home at 8pm - long day!
This is the only photo I took today, we went Carisbroke Castle to kill time until a ferry crossing was available. This wheel lifts the buckets of water from the well, today it was powered by a member of staff but it’s usually powered by a donkey.
