The first sweet peas
Day two of the weekend sale in the village hall. As soon as we opened, two coaches of passengers from the visiting cruise liner appeared! They'd just been to the Italian Chapel and popped into St Margaret's Hope before going back to Kirkwall. They were thrilled to find us open as the craft shop wasn't and this was their final day ashore, with spending opportunities! The ones I spoke to were Americans and Australians, all very friendly and delighted with Orkney and what they had seen.
It was a cold, damp day and chilly in the hall, with the doors open to make it more welcoming! Luckily, stall holders were given a free bowl of soup and cup of coffee to keep us warm! I spent a bit of time sorting books as people were bringing bags of them in all day and they had to go somewhere. It was a lot warmer doing that than sitting waiting for sales. When needed, I could easily nip back. I sold quite a lot and was very happy with my day.
I bought another couple of books, but didn't buy my old one back!
No suitable photos of the sale, so it's the first of my sweet peas instead.
