Sally Mair - Loving life

Jammin'

Well today was a productive day. Ali and the girls came over this morning and had lunch here then we drove her car down to Restalrig for its MOT tomorrow.
Back home I put a ham joint into the oven to bake - I put a honey glaze on it. The next task was a family chicken casserole. It's quite nice cooking for nine instead of two.
My final task was to make a batch of strawberry jam from some of the berries I picked yesterday. It's hard not to pick too many when you get going. I picked at the cherries (did that make me a cherry picker?) while cooking.
Dinner (extra) was rather nice of I do say so. I made a rather tasty sauce to go with the ham using cherries (of course) and balsamic vinegar. I ran out of inspiration when it came to veg though -in fact I forgot about them completely so Captain Birdseye came to the rescue!
This evening we watched the first episode of the Turkish Detective, set in Istanbul, which we rather enjoyed.
