Today the good burgh of Peebles,...

...a prosperous wee Borders town became even more prosperous. We passed by a small cafe/deli Milne and Pickle. Glancing in the window we saw a couple enjoying some fine looking platters. Dog friendly too! But no room for us so a stroll around the High Street and we returned to find a table free. Result. A magnificent platter for lunch. The portions defeated, a doggy bag required. A little pricey but well worth it. Staff were lovely, but before you got stuck in there was a description about every item and where it came from, all local and of course artisan. Delicious.

Onward, my dog walking coat is beyond the pale. A new light rain jacket required. A very suitable one was sourced on the High Street.

I intended to return home via the Gyle to purchase a suit for an up and coming funeral and wedding (no, not a double header), but McGrath's an outfitter hove into view. A most excellent shop. Quite old fashioned. A most suitable suit was purchased for a small fortune. Me! in a suit! There is a new chapter in my life having worn little else but jeans and T shirts since 1976.

"And would Sir like to look at shoes, belts, shirts, ties?"

I sprinted back to the car before I was bankrupted.

Peebles, well worth a visit, it never disappoints.
