Curveball

Today was an absolute misery from start to finish. There were hold-ups throughout the whole drive from Tiptree to Chesham, with the M25 being particularly horrible all the way round. It took over 2 hours to travel 78 miles, and by the time I arrived at the flat it was raining. The forecast for my moving day is also looking like heavy rain (why am I not surprised?).

I wrestled with the utility companies and Buckinghamshire Council all afternoon, attempting to notify them of my impending move. It’s not as straightforward as it should be. I’m not sure if all the online forms completed and phone calls made were actually successful. I also struggled to electronically sign an important form emailed by the solicitor. It wasn’t obvious how to achieve this task, but after about 45 minutes of puzzling I stumbled on the way to do it by accident. Just as I was emailing it back, my text went off. It was the charity I’m donating several large pieces of furniture to from the flat to say they couldn’t collect it tomorrow after all, and would come on Thursday. I wasn’t planning on staying in Chesham that long, and this delay has now thrown out all my plans for the rest of the week. They’d better not let me down again on Thursday - the furniture simply has to go and it will then be too late to organise collection by a different charity. This whole saga of selling the flat and moving into my late parents’ house is shaping up to have been a complete pig from start to bitter end.

Thank you to JacZero for hosting July’s Mono Monday challenge, with today’s theme of ‘Curve’.
