Those were the days

There was a time when Finnish Television did only show the Wimbledon finals. There was weeks and days of track and field and baseball, but not the 'elitist' tennis. Then, surprise surprise, in the 70's or 80's you could buy directly from The Championships, Wimbledon a passport (costing something in dollars, I can't remember how much, but on the expencive side) and you could enter all games and all courts, during the weeks of the games. Can you imagine! What feast! I did sit at my computer (or was it my television set?) all my vacation weeks and just skip from one court to the other, one player to the other. Can you believe it? It didn't last long. No wonder. And the play itself was different. I would prefer to see more netplay today.
But can you believe what was happening in the audience!

If you live to be ninety, you can recall how it was in the fifties, in the sixties, in the seventies, in the eighties, in the nineties, even in the first decades of the 21st century. ;-)  :-))
