One day at a time

The bowling green has reliable and frequent feathered visitors. Our fertiliser supplier has recommended a treatment to 'help with the worm casts'. I quizzed him about it and he said it makes them 'go to the edges'. He didn't know whether it would harm birds if they ate them. My guess is it would.
I'm determined to work with nature not against it. So that won't be applied to the green. I like worms because they help the soil. A little bit of 'swishing' soon removes the casts. And the birds can safely feed their chicks.
