A trip to North Ronaldsay. I didn't take that many photos- another grey day and plenty of birds and seals but at a distance. It was good to see lots of young arctic terns amongst the dozens on the wing. I thought I saw a marsh harrier but on closer inspection on the computer at home it turned out to be a very pale hen harrier. There were two chasing each other and I think they might have been recently fledged siblings. A few waders- turnstones, dunlin , a knot and about 200 golden plover, so it looks like wader migration south has started.
