Rolling with joy

Or rather rolling with Caroline.  

I didn’t manage many photos today as we were preparing for a social two days.  Made up beds, put flowers in rooms and menu planned first thing.   Then I raced over to Cowdray to buy fancy food from the farm shop and then into Petersfield for final bits and pieces and came back to find Jamie and Caroline already arrived and Woody in love.  

We had quiches from Cowdray for lunch and then everyone sat around and read papers.  I made some strawberry and buttermilk ice cream and then Caroline and I  went for a walk in the woods as the rain had stopped. It was all rather lovely. 

Meanwhile V’s friend Caroline Quinn arrived.  She’s English but lives in LA and is over here seeing family. 

Dinner was a Moroccan inspired all in one chicken dish (Diana Henry) that was very easy and delicious.  

I had slept badly and went to bed early leaving them to wrangle the car alarm on CQ’s car that was disturbing the lane.
