Twenty-two

A very lovely day yesterday and a 250-ish mile round trip so I was a bit tired this morning and went back to bed after Bailey's breakfast. So did he and he let me lie in, snoozing and reading until half-ten. Up and Bailey walked, I headed to the supermarket partly to buy ingredients to make two cakes for a coffee morning on Tuesday in aid of Macmillan. A bit of work done once I was home and then the sofa and a bit more reading, finishing this book by a writer I have enjoyed before. I bought her latest one a couple of weeks ago, not realising it was a sequel so this one was bought secondhand and just the thing for this point in the academic year. One of the cakes made this afternoon and the buttercream icing for both of them so that there is just the second cake to make tomorrow evening. It's Sports Day, whole school assembly and our team meeting tomorrow so a bit of mindless baking will be just the thing.
