Lindenfest

One of the annual events in my mother’s village is the Lindenfest, which takes place all around, under and even inside the village linden tree, which is a Tanzlinde (Tanz = dance), with a sturdy platform made for dancing between its branches.

Today, Frau G, K and I took my mother to see the festivities, meet some people and enjoy the coffee and homemade cake at the Lindenfest. Sadly, she didn’t recognize any of her old friends and neighbours, and loudly complained about the „noise“ (there was a small brass band playing, and she had never been a fan of brass music). But she liked watching people, especially children - and there wasn’t anything wrong with the coffee and cake, either.
