There must have been something in the air last night. When I opened my back door I found a considerable number of moths on the wall. There are usually a few of the 'bog standard'  type but not this many or this variety. This Poplar Hawk  and  White Ermine caught my attention.
A few weeks ago I saw something (possibly on Facebook) about how few butterflies there were this year.. Last year my Buddleia bush was absolutely covered in them so this year I have left it to go a bit rampant. I went to inspect it and discovered that many of the flowers are going over but I have yet to see a single butterfly! 
I guess it's all weather related.
