Aperture on Life

House Sparrow

I've got some awful photos of the seals basking on the sandbank in the Basin, I've some even worse images of Meganza and a couple of fishermen attempting to catch mackerel in the river, which were boring.
So tonight have a  House sparrow.
I pulled out a 2x extender for my 800mm. I've barely used the lens since I was given it a couple of years ago and the extender was still in its wrapping.  The 800mm works well, but I'd decided to try and see if I could get some closer shots to the areas where the seals haul themselves out of the water and the waders congregate.
The images were mostly in focus but the grain was beyond acceptable.
It's neither the camera nor the extender. It's me. I need to get back into the classroom!
One grainy Sparrow, shot too close, from the car window. A group of them sheltered from the rain under a corrugated steel roof that covers an unused kennel.

My colleague and I have worked 7 days a week for 2 clients who increasingly need more assistance for  almost 2 months.  We've poached a wonderful Lavian from a local agency to help us and she started this morning. Hopefully, it will give me some time to Blip.
Forgive me if I don't comment much. In Surrey, it was hard work, but I had built a team to work together.  Here, we're just beginning, and there are only so many hours I can feasibly dedicate to social interaction. Working in the care sector is far from 9 to 5.
Nine days in and I've already back blipped the past two.
