The accidental finding

CleanSteve went off to the market, and I dozed. GG rang me at 9.30 and created a muddle by not listening to me. Finally got that sorted at 10.30 and went off to see S. He had another tooth op yesterday and had a hamster-face. His sister turned up, then disappeared again. Yesterday was the anniversary of their mother's death, 8 years ago. I was very sad about that, but pleased that they are talking again. I cooked some sweet potatoes (they're soft! ) and S showed me clips from Disney plus. I still want to get  this service but have to wait till I get my Tesco clubcard points at the end of this month.

Later, I walked through town to Statford park, where the country show was being held. I forgot to go into the WI tent to see the cakes and vegetables and so on, but saw a dog show, a Samba band and some heavy horses (above). I admit I preferred the show when there was more livestock. I like to see big beasts, and judges at work. As they were, for example, on 18 July 2015.https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2069222218520334206
or 16 July 2016:

When I'd had enough of buying and eating fudge and not winning bottles of wine, I made my way to the museum, where there was a splendid exhibition of 'alchemical herb' drawings by artist Fiona Owen and herbalist Nathaniel Hughes. In a separate space, there were videos of the artist at work, but she speaks in a monotone and has such an amazing house and garden that I found myself alternating between drowsiness and envy. Coming out, I bumped into a client who seems to have undergone a transformation..We chatted for a while then I went to the supermarket, and ended up walking along the canal  to get home the long way round, listening to an audiobook.

Retired to the cabin to finish the audiobook. Lay down. Whoops. Fell asleep when the baddies got arrested at last, but slept through their trial and woke up towards the end of the final chapter!

After a bit of sorting stuff out upstairs, I watched the final episode of 'Once upon a time in Northern Ireland' and am now once more resting. I did attempt to make an oat cappuccino in the new machine, but it was more like a babyccino, I could not taste the coffee. GG is coming around tomorrow so I hope I can make a better one by then.
