The sound of Sabah

As we prepared to leave Borneo for the next part of our Malaysian holiday in Penang I thought I would blip this young man who sat in the hotel lobby and played his percussion instrument every time someone arrived - a gong was sounded first and then he started to play. I think it may be called a banong and it produced a delightful sound sometimes accompanied by another young man playing a type of drum which can just be seen on the right of the picture.
