Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Blip

We Thought it Was Dead

We were under the impression that this fuchsia had not survived the winter here in the Highlands. We spent quite some time thinking about what we might replace it with, something really hardy that would survive. Good that we spent so long thinking because Lo and Behold a few weeks ago I noticed the first green shoots appearing. It is not going to be at its most spectacular this year as previously. I plan to take some cuttings over the next couple of days just to be sure for the future. But I will ensure that it gets some protection this coming winter. It is almost one of the family after all this time.

I had hoped to link to it on the Edinburgh balcony in all its glory, but neither of us seems to have photos of it full grown. However here is one of it in its earlier days.

Update
SWMBO found what must be a very rare image of it - the power of blip...

...and WhatsApp, she's in Ireland.
