Excellent day in Edinburgh

We left the house at just gone seven and headed to Inverness. We parked the car in Rose Street and crossed the road to Charlie’s cafe. Had a tasty cooked breakfast to keep us going. Caught the bus to Edinburgh. No hold ups although it does take longer by bus as it has a few detours and our one went through Perth itself so probably added 20 mins to the journey.
We went straight to the Portrait Gallery to wait for Richard. Had a soup and shared a huge cheese scone.
Met Richard and decided to go and see A Quiet Place Day One at the Everyman. A cosy cinema with settees and armchairs. We all really enjoyed the film. A great story line and special effects.
On the way there I spotted Aaron from The National and we asked if he would have a photo with Richard. He said yes and you can see the result. Richard , especially, has been a massive fan for years so he was very happy.
After a pizza we walked up the Royal Mile to the Castle. Found our seats and very happy with them, a great view. The perfect night as it stayed dry and not too bright. A great gig.
Walked down to Haymarket and caught the tube to our hotel. Richard carried on to the next stop to get his car and then drove home.
