Roll Out the Doughnuts!

Before I took Catie to the airport for her return to Phoenix, we had to stop at the world famous Voodoo Doughnuts. She had purchased a couple of plastic containers to fill with the Voodoo goodness so she could take them home to friends and family.

Voodoo is another one of those Portland icons that is more hype than is worthy of the product (in my humble opinion). The storefronts are open 24/7, and one often has to stand in a very long line for a very long time to make a purchase. The doughnuts are over the top crazy - topped with Fruit Loops or bubble gum or M&Ms. You can get a sugar high just pulling into the parking lot.

Ah, but it's fun and worth the trip to get a big smile from my lovely granddaughter, who is now back home in Phoenix. How special to have this time with her!
