Pink roses

The cool weather (max. today 17ºC) is suiting the roses.

MrHCB tested positive for covid yesterday and slept for about 20 hours.  He feels less "limp" today and is pottering gently round the garden.

One of our friends is past Chairman of the Lute Society (what do you mean, you have never heard of the Lute Society?).  For many years, he and his wife have hosted their annual party in their garden, where much lute music is played. As friends and enthusiasts, we are invited although we are usually the only people there who do not actually play the lute.  Sadly the party is this evening and we have given our apologies as we wouldn't like to give covid to the whole lute-playing population of the British Isles...
