One of our neighbours is a dab hand at gardening.  He gave the rest of us a sunflower plant each, that he'd grown from seed.  A tiny thing in a tiny pot.

Our neighbours still have tiny things in tiny pots.  But not us.

Anniemay has nurtured ours, said magic spells and danced the fandango (before her knee went) at midnight round the pot, in hope of winning the biggest sunflower competition.

There's not really a competition, but as Chris is fond of saying, "Mum will make a competition out of anything."

The sunflower is now well over 2 metres high and the trophy - should there be one - is hers.

In other news, we had two butterflies fly over; a Cabbage White and a browny/coloured thing.  Better late than never.
