treasure trove....

my great grandmother who I remember well used to frequent auction rooms which were once dotted all along the quays in Dublin..this is one of her many finds..a beautifully worked silver box with a tortoiseshell lid..of course since 1947 it became illegal to harvest tortoiseshell but isnt it lovely with the sun shining through  it..my great grandmother had 15 children , 10 of whom lived...9 girls and the baby , a boy. who became my grandfather !
