Down House

One off the bucket list - Down House - the home of Charles Darwin.

Darwin and his wife chose this house as it was in the countryside, yet accessible to London. Paradoxically, it's in the London Borough of Bromley, yet is really quite rural, with a bus service that's infrequent for London but brilliant for most rural areas.

The house and gardens have an excellent audio guide that give an excellent sense of life in the house and how Darwin developed his theories, based on work he did literally in his backyard.
