Clothing redistribution

Today was a day with a difference. We knew there was hardship amongst some families in the town
We had a lot of donated clothing first time we offered it for nothing and only a handful of people turned up.  Today after a huge onslaught letting people know in every way we knew how and offering it for a dollar a garment we had a busy day. As well as lots of really good second hand clothing we had money donated with which we purchased packs of new knickers and pyjamas. Some that we really knew  were struggling we gave bags of groceries to and made sure they went away with loaded bags of clothing for just a few dollars.  One wee girl as she was picking out some clothes said I love shopping. I guess she had never had an opportunity like it before
It was such a good thing to be involved with and we will do it again beginning of summer. It’s really good to recycle good clothing to where there’s a need
