3484. Cameo pendant

I’ve probably photographed this many times before but it’s a weekend challenge in #aywmc and it’s metal this weekend….so I thought it would work.

This pendant started life as a brooch, it’s Victorian and it used to have a 98ct Aquamarine in the brooch.  I got it converted to a pendant as it was far too heavy as a brooch.  Then decided to get the stone cut as I realised that I’d wear it more if it was in a ring, so I got a ring made along with matching drop earrings.  That left the case empty so the jeweller suggested this cameo and added a silver bale with some gold from one of my Mom’s broken pieces of jewellery.  I absolutely love it and love the fact that the lady is wearing a pendant too…it has a tiny diamond in the centre.  I love the fact that this jewellery has had a very long life and has been redone several times….I hope someone else in the future treasures it too.
