Oh dear
I shouldn’t laugh but Leo came home from his girlfriend’s very put out as her dog had peed on his feet whilst they were sat at the table having something to eat. The poor old dog is getting on a bit and tends to pee when excited so I told him he should take it as a compliment but he was supremely unimpressed
He came home looking very sorry for himself telling me all about how he had to wash his feet, wear his girlfriend’s socks and try and rescue his slippers from disaster. They had tried to save the day by throwing them in the washing machine. I am not sure that was the best plan as they are now all stiff and he thinks they look like elf shoes as they have curved upwards. He was so put out as he loves those slippers! I offered to try and salvage them but he has written them off and can’t bear the thought of wearing them anymore.
I ordered a replacement pair from good old M&S so hopefully he can survive without them for a day or two. And then he can enjoy the new pair. I bet he never takes those to his girlfriend’s again!
I survived my first day back in the office. I was whacked but other than that felt fine. We went and had a celebratory coffee to mark my fellowship award. Thanks for all your congratulatory messages on that. Such a relief to have that done and dusted.
By the end of the day I was running out of steam and glad to head home but that turned into a nightmare. There was an accident on the M5 so all traffic had to be routed through Cullompton and then there was also an accident on one of the main roundabouts into Cullompton. It took me 2 hours to get home! That is usually a 30ish minute journey.
It was still road chaos when Ian headed out around 9am to pick Leo up from his girlfriend’s house.
