Postcard from Dumfries

When I got off the bus this morning, the seagull had this dead rat in its mouth. Im sure he went back to finish his meal after I left. Seagulls can be a problem in Dumfries - a colleague who lives in the town said she can’t eat in the garden or even hang out washing. I’ve seen them walking into shops and taking food, but noone will complain about them eating rats, I’m sure. A busy day at work again which passed quickly, and after a swift sauna I was on the bus home again. Our regular Friday driver is moving house this week, so we had a temporary replacement, very cheery and obliging, letting people off the bus wherever was most convenient for them and saying “thank you for travelling on our service” when I waved him goodbye.
