Farewell Iceland

The change in weather was a sure sign that it was time to go home and I was ready to leave as I was missing Nick and Bertie.
We were up at 3.00am so that we would be ready for our taxi booked for 4.00am and it arrived promptly. We were having to fly from Iceland to Dublin and then onwards to Glasgow because Thursday is the one day of the week when Icelandair doesn’t have a direct flight to Glasgow. Unfortunately for us, things began to go wrong when we arrived in Dublin and saw that our next flight had been delayed. As time went on the delay got longer and longer. When we finally took off just after 4.00pm we knew that we would not make it to Oban in time for the last ferry at 8.00pm so we changed our ferry booking and found a convenient hotel for the night, all pleased to “hit the hay” earlier than expected.
