Norfolk Lavender
We may not be able to see the lavender in Provence anymore but my words this certainly made up for it today!
After a dismal dreary drive to Norfolk we turned a corner near Heacham and were absolutely bowled over by the sight of the beautiful purple fields in front of us.
I was able to make a quick left turn into a Lidl carpark, and then crossed over the road to take a few pictures.
We both said we hadn’t seen anything better in France.
Unfortunately it was still mizzling. Would have been better with the sunshine out.
Difficult to choose which photo so put a couple of photos on as extras.
It was then on to Brancaster Staith and a dish of cockles followed by crab sandwiches at the Crab Hut. Sooooo yummy.
It did almost dry up and so we had a walk along the coastal path.
Got chatting to two ladies who were from Leeds and down here for a few days.
We could hear curlews and pointed one out to them. Just love these birds.
On to Stifkey marshes to look for samphire. Will pick some to bring home later.
Through Wells next the Sea, and Blakeney before arriving at our B&B near Holt.
A.greated us with a cuppa and cakes.
She insisted we had a piece of each Chocolate cake, banana loaf, and Bakewell tart.
Sat chatting for and before we knew it an hour has passed by.
So good to be back, and settled in to our favourite B&B.
Hopefully the weather may improve tomorrow.
We have quite a lot planned.
Should certainly sleep well tonight.
