Complicated

Today after walking Django I went into work for meetings with two people from our External Engagement group - who wants to know how they can help with HiGHS - and the School's Senior Administrator - who wanted to confirm that I wanted to go part-time. It was a sobering experience of asking simple questions and stating what I felt to be obvious, only to get complex replies due to UoE attempts to regulate activities by procedures. Professional judgement seems no longer to exist. It made me glad to be running HiGHS by the seat of my pants as a "benign dictator", as I was referred to last week. However, I won't be able to keep things so simple as the project grows over the coming years. I was glad of a chat with researcher J and a quick call from И.

When I left work I had time for a walk around the campus before getting my bus, and was amazed to see a raven standing calmly on top of someone's car. It is a raven, isn't it?

Today I read the small print of the football prediction competition, and see that I can be beaten, but only if England wins the final 2-1. I'd settle for that!
