The Bell Heather….

glowed in todays sunlight, both here on Struie Hill and at Croick Kirk, my destination.. The windows in the kirk tell the story of the 1843 clearances of the Glencalvie folk, evicted to enable intensive sheep farming! They scratched their tales of woe on the diamond shaped panes, but it is not visible from outside. It was so poignant reading it from inside some years ago.
