Gently down the stream

Redshank

Today I did indeed go to Lymington and had a beautiful walk in the slightly hazy sunshine.  It's been approx two and a half weeks since I last went (I think) and things in the bird colony have changed a lot.  Last time there were still redshank standing guard over their chicks on every other post round the central breeding area.  Today there was just this one and I couldn't see any small chicks, only adolescents, so perhaps s/he was simply having a rest ;))

On my way back to the Town Quay I stopped at the Mayflower for a cold drink, a packet of crisps and a few tears, which flushed out memories of the times R and I were working on big events away from home.  We'd get all our stuff ready super-professionally, then quietly ditch the clients for an hour or so before the action kicked off, find an empty teashop and get hysterical giggles.

Okay, that's me for today.  Have a happy Thursday evening  xx
