Meet Randy!

My husband arrived home from where he'd been working yesterday with some carrots (see yesterdays blip) potatoes, lettuce and 5 moorhen eggs, the lady didn't want any more and asked my husband to get rid of them but he could hear the chicks tweeting inside so he bought them home, I popped them all in a little shoe box and tried to make it all cosy, and popped them on top of a lamp, they were all still in their eggs when I went to bed last night tweeting away to themselves, When we checked on them this morning one had hatched!

As there were five eggs, we're naming them after the Jacksons! So the first born we've called Michael, and about an hour ago Randy was born, I was lucky enough to be able to film, and photograph him hatching so the picture you see is of little Randy entering the big wide world.

Hopefully they'll all survive and when they're strong enough we can let them go and live in someones lake we know! I'll keep you up to date!
