Alms For The Poor

I took the car for its MOT this morning, and as I walked back home I passed this large Hydrangea, and stopped. I've never been a big fan of this plant, but this is a spectacular splash of colour.

Behind the bush are some Alms Houses, from 1833 I think. An act of charity that will have benefitted some people then, and many more since. They are currently in need of a bit of TLC, but looks like they will last for many more years.
