Billie and tea
Billie was really poorly and sad this morning so I walked Mabel first and then we took Billie to the vet. Vet was really concerned for her and her high temperature and explained that she needed x-rays and blood tests, telling us too what possibilities lay ahead. We don’t do pet insurance generally so the estimate felt a little more staggering than if we had.
And we had to leave her there, which felt awful. Really awful.
We drove home feeling a bit poorly ourselves, knowing that we’d be waiting for news for most of the day.
I then headed out to meet my lovely friend to do a ‘tea experience’ thing run by Twinings on The Strand in London. It was an extraordinary couple of hours learning about the history of tea and then sampling different kinds. It was lovely to do it with this friend in particular, because she so loves English teas, as in, not the leaves, but the social gathering of an English tea!
News from the vet arrived as we were leaving and Elbows and Welshman had collected her before I got home. Relieved to hear that she had a torn knee ligament. The prognosis could have been much worse. But how we are going to help a 6 month old puppy rest, with no running or jumping, seems like quite a task.
Spent the evening nurturing her and encouraging her to eat a little, bit by bit.
