Hobbs's Run

Cocky on the Make

The sulphur crested cockatoos have breezed into town and are occupying their accustomed positions on garbage cans, footpath signs and street furniture, where they demand food with good natured menaces.

In spite of signs discouraging the practice, they have gotten pretty good at getting fed. They have learned to adopt convincing forlorn expressions and will cheerfully pose for pictures, provided payment is forthcoming.

This highly intelligent, cheeky little devil owns the sign outside a patisserie and is most unwilling to give it up.
