Before the rains

As the reins of power formally changed in the House of Commons today I was more worried about the forthcoming rains.

I decided to pick those roses in bloom before the rain ruined them. There was a good display (and unfortunately of black spot) and the perfume has been lovely.

When the rain arrived it was heavy and persistent and the temperature dropped to 12oC. All thanks to the position of the jet stream apparently which, if I heard correctly, is unlikely to shift much until the end of the month!
