Playtime duties…

Gosh, this brought back many memories of umpteen playground duties over the space of only five years! Many disputes dealt with and friendships remade, grazed knees rubbed and children hugged. The area also served as an outdoor classroom. I like this, taken through the railings.
My extra, without the railings and the two play houses, also the cause of many an argument. Happy imaginative play too of course. Girls will be girls.

Today at midday the school closed for good. A year earlier than at first decided and the senior school carrying on for another year so Yr 13 pupils can do their exams.

I’m SO glad we drove by this evening. There was a party going on in a marquee on the field, music and voices inside sounding positive. There were security men on site but I was allowed to mooch around outside and take photos of the building. Then who should appear but Mirek our site manager when I was teaching there. We shared a super big hug. D knew him too so we spent a happy time chatting and catching up over old times.

And we nearly didn’t go! The rain this evening and after a long Tuesday I hesitated. What I would have missed….!
